All Gone

Celia Glyde Husband produces brightly coloured, highly textured, multiple layered paintings using acrylic paint and mixed media.  Pastel drawings capture odd moments when out and about or on holiday.

Always keen to find ways of portraying colour and movement within the city environment and living in a town, Celia enjoys the carnival, which she enthusiastically supports.  The carnival is often a source of inspiration as it really brings the town to life. The carnival is a multi-layered event with diverse groups and various arts involved, alive with colour and movement.  Music and dance from all around the world combined with a local multi-cultural and ethnic population make the event inspiring.

The paintings and drawings on show at St Martin-in-the-Fields represent Celia's work inspired by the carnival, the city environment and aspects of city life.  Inspiration is found in the many quirky activities one sees just going for a walk or shopping (skateboarders or joggers in the park), they can be the subject of quick sketches or photographs and then worked into larger paintings.
